The U.S. Army's Simulation Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) selected Rockwell Collins to perform the Lift Simulator
Modernization Program (LSMP) delivery order under the STOC omnibus contract.
Under this program, Rockwell Collins designed and produced technology and concurrency upgrades to the fleet of existing UH-60
Blackhawk and CH-47 Chinook Flight Simulators. The LSMP project leverages the latest technology advancements to provide enhanced training capabilities for UH-60 and CH-47 aircrews to perform critical mission tasks. Rockwell
Collins upgraded Blackhawk and Chinook simulators with modern state-of-the-art visual systems; provided new databases and
visual modeling systems, and modernized the main computational system resources. Concurrency upgrades configured the simulators
to be current with the operational UH-60 and CH-47 aircraft configurations.
The LSMP program is a multi-year contract which includes the development, production, and testing of upgrades to 24 simulator
systems. The program has produced enhanced operational training capabilities for the warfighter and reduces complexity in
performing future modifications and upgrades.
