Rockwell Collins, China Eastern Airlines Facility Open for Business

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (May 29, 2003) - Rockwell Collins International Inc., a subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc. (NYSE: COL), and China Eastern Airlines (CEA) announce their joint venture facility is now in operation and ready to serve the People's Republic of China (China). The joint venture company, known as Collins Aviation Maintenance Services Shanghai Limited (CAMSS), provides maintenance, repair and overhaul of avionics and IFE equipment manufactured by Rockwell Collins, as well as non-Collins products from throughout China.

"Collins Aviation Maintenance Services Shanghai Limited is the center of excellence for the repair and overhaul of avionics and IFE equipment for the People's Republic of China. This facility offers the experience, superior performance and expertise of both Rockwell Collins and China Eastern Airlines," shares Mr. Ye, Chairman and President of China Eastern Airlines. "Rockwell Collins was selected based upon its outstanding quality of service, turn-around times and engineering capabilities in the aviation industry."

"We are excited that CAMSS can now provide airline customers in China with superior turn-times, high reliability, and a flexible menu of services for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Collins and non-Collins products," shares Harry Gregory, senior vice president and general manager of Rockwell Collins Aviation Services.

As one of three major airlines in China, China Eastern Airlines has more than 80 aircraft in its worldwide fleet and will increase this fleet size to over 150 aircraft after the merger with China Northwest Airlines and China Yunnan Airlines. In addition, CEA has plans to introduce additional Boeing and Airbus aircraft over the next five years, showing sustainable growth in the air transport industry.

Collins Aviation Services (CAS) has a global network of more than 60 locations that provide repair and overhaul of avionics equipment and IFE equipment. Additional capabilities include repair, on-board services, service parts, training and technical information services.
