Rockwell Collins announces 2009 National Merit Scholarship Awards

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (June 29, 2009) - Rockwell Collins will award scholarships to 16 high school seniors as part of the 2009 Merit Scholarship Program. The students, all selected by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) as Merit Finalists, receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship to the accredited college of their choice. To be eligible, the students must have a parent who is a Rockwell Collins employee, earn a qualifying score on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test® (PSAT) and demonstrate an outstanding academic record.

Rockwell Collins is one of 300 companies that participate in the corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship Program. To qualify for the 2010 award, students must take the Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) early in their junior year.   • Andrea Dunn, daughter of Greg Dunn, Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa
  • Heidi Landenberger, daughter of Jay Landenberger, Camp Verde High School in Camp Verde, Ariz.
  • Hanxiang Liao, son of Frank Liao, Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
  • Rajin Olson, son of Craig Olson, Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa
  • Victor Pham, son of Nguyen Pham, Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas
