US Coast Guard MH-60T

Originally fielded over 17 years ago as the HH-60J, the MH-60T is the proven workhorse for the U.S. Coast Guard as the medium range responder for offshore operations. The helicopter also offers shore-based aviation surveillance and transport. Although the MH-60T looks similar to its predecessor, it is a completely updated, modernized aircraft inside. These upgrades include a new integrated cockpit and an electro-optical/infrared sensor system that provides aircrews with enhanced capabilities to locate, identify and track surface targets day or night,

Rockwell Collins is providing a fully integrated cockpit Avionics Management System for 42 MH-60T search and rescue helicopters. This upgrade program builds on the success of our Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) that was first implemented on the U.S. Army's Special Operations helicopters. The MH-60T's CAAS system incorporates common, reusable processing elements in an open systems approach that is based on commercial standards. The system also includes our full color control display units, integrated processing center and data transfer units. Each of the aircraft's five multi-functional displays is capable of primary flight symbology, radar imagery, digital map and systems information. Furthermore, key flight instrumentation symbology has been designed for enhanced safety during over-water search operations and night hovering.

Mission success for the MH-60T is also ensured by Rockwell Collins' advanced high frequency and very/ultra high frequency communications and navigation equipment. Additionally, our mission surveillance sensor management capabilities and upgrades to the state-of-the-art DF-430 direction finding system help enhance search and rescue operations.
